Kenneth Klein, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon serving patients at Mid Atlantic Orthopedic Associates, LLP, located in East Brunswick, New Jersey. His subspecialties include sports medicine, arthroscopic procedures of the upper and lower extremities, joint replacement of the hips and knees, minimally-invasive partial knee joint replacement, ligament reconstruction including the Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL), and shoulder surgery.
Dr. Klein grew up in Woodbridge, New Jersey, where he graduated from Woodbridge High School. He majored in Biology at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he earned his undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree. He then went on to study medicine at Temple University Medical School in Philadelphia where he received his medical degree. Dr. Klein completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Klein performed the first operative arthroscopy in New Jersey in 1972. He pioneered the development of arthroscopic techniques. He also performed one of the first knee replacement surgeries at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.
He is a member and past president of the New Jersey Orthopedic Society. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America as well as the International Arthroscopy Association. He has many publications including co-authoring an orthopedic textbook about the knee.
His expertise is in arthroscopy of the knee, shoulder, ankle, and wrist. He also performs knee and hip replacement surgeries. He is an assistant clinical professor of orthopedic surgery at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.
